Chelsea Kerl (she/her) completed graduate school at Boston University in 2014, earning an MFA in Costume Design. She is also a graduate of the University of Maryland, where she graduated summa cum laude in 2011 with BAs in both Theatre and English.
In 2015 she became the Costume Shop Supervisor, Resident Costume Designer, and Costume Professor at Wellesley College, and she is currently affiliated faculty at Emerson College and Bridgewater State University. She was previously a staff costume technician at the American Repertory Theatre.
She has lived in New Jersey and the DC area and currently resides in Boston, where her work has been seen on stages across New England. She has been fortunate enough to travel extensively, enjoying trips to Poland, the Czech Republic, Canada, Mexico, New Zealand, Spain, France, Costa Rica, Iceland, China, the Azores, and Belize and studying abroad in Italy, England, and Australia.
She began sewing in her childhood and has been involved in theatre for most of her life.
